It is unbelievable to me that it has been 3 whole years since I hit publish on this:
--------------------------------
It All Started with One Conversation
To start, let me just say that if you are looking for serious how-tos for training for a triathlon, this is NOT the site for that. This will catalog my own personal experiences--both real and perceived--with multisport racing. It is my goal to show humourous depictions of my training in all three sports, two of which I have little to no experience in. I am a total klutz and the majority of my “athletic” background comes from eleven years of ballet and jazz; from the ages of 3-14, to be precise. I danced up to 4 times a week, and ultimately left due to artistic differences. I saw myself as talented,
and they saw me as klutzy, inflexible and not anorexic.
The full post is here.
---------------------------------------
While the first thing that strikes me is how my drawings have evolved, I also love that I can look back on what I have done in my life over the past 3 years. I think that might actually be the point of a blog, isn't it?
Here are the best things about blogging:
1. I have met many fellow bloggers/triathletes/runners, some of whom have become my closest friends!
And I just joined the Tough Chiks!!
3. Over time, I also got out of my comfort zone to try new things, like Hot Yoga.
It was nasty.
Over the past 3 years I have discovered that I can do so much more than I had ever thought possible.
A lot.
So. In order to celebrate my 3 year blogiversary and to saythank you THANK YOU! A million times thank you!! for reading, I am doing another...

Indoor cycling classes and aqua jogging.
A Masters Swim class, and a Jillian Michaels Shred class.
Sometimes I do these things just for you, my faithful readers.
I got to join my sister and nephews as they ran their first 5k and became runners!!
And one year I was in a 1300 person flash mob!!
Most recently (you're not sick of me telling you yet, are you?) I ran a MARATHON!
Over the past 3 years I have discovered that I can do so much more than I had ever thought possible.
Oh, and I also discovered that I really like high fives.

I love your drawings and your blogging! This was so fun to read. Draw on blog girl. Your drawing skills and blogging skills match your inspiring skills! Love you TriGirl… Valerie
ReplyDeleteVirtual high 5! Three years is quite an achievement. Congratulations! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I thought it was going to be a drawing for a drawing...meaning that in order to enter, readers would have to send in drawings they created. That would be hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you decided to hit publish three years ago! Yours in one of my favorite blogs! You never fail to make me literally laugh out loud (I have learned to NOT read your posts on my cell phone during business meetings.) I really hope I win!
ReplyDeleteOh and I Tweeted! https://twitter.com/GeaLenders/status/409342420166246400
ReplyDeleteRunning with Ollie always raves about your posts. Now I see why. I love your drawings.
ReplyDeleteHigh 5! happy happy blogaversary to you.
ReplyDeleteI already follow on Twitter. @detroitrunner1
ReplyDeleteWow, three years! Congratulations. While I want nothing more than to force you to make a pickleope stick drawing, I don't want to clog your comments with all that. Besides, have I not given you enough ha-ha's not in traditional joke form both here in your comments but also for free on my own site? Now I have to dance like a monkey for you?
ReplyDeleteFine.
It's seasonal too.
The people who wrote the lyrics to "Little Drummer Boy" didn't realize that drums existed in the world, otherwise, why would they write onomatopoetic lyrics like "rum pa pum pum" multiple times? (It doesn't have to be funny "ha-ha", right? Funny "strange" counts?)
And just to get that extra entry, hecks yeah I'm following you on the tweets.
DeleteI absolutely LOVE your drawings!! It really adds to your blog, which I enjoy reading!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! 3 years is a LOOOOOONG time, but you've packed so much into it! I quite probably have the distinction of being your least-athletic follower, but it's amazing how much 'fun' you make it sound!! Look forward to the next 3 years!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on three years of blogging!!
ReplyDeleteI follow on twitter @Christyruns
ReplyDeleteI retweeted your tweet :)
ReplyDeleteI seriously can't believe it's been 3 years! That's awesome and congratulations TriGirl!
ReplyDeleteI follow you on twitter by the way! @vapidv
ReplyDeleteJoke entry! It’s hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.
ReplyDeleteHa! Get it? *nudge nudge*
Sigh.
Oh! Also, I re-tweeted your tweet. Oh my gosh I'm so annoying. Ok, I'm done. I promise!
ReplyDeleteUmm I lied. I just realized I've left 4 comments and I don't like that number so I'm changing it to 5 with another joke. And THEN I promise I'm done.
ReplyDeleteThe dyslexic devil worshipper sold his soul to Santa.
BOOM!
I love reading your posts, your drawings are more than great!!! Felicitaciones!

ReplyDeleteWhat did the broken pancreas say to it's owner? "I'm sorry. Islet you down."
Get it? Islet cells? *crickets*
Here is my joke...
